nacho reviews in Williamsburg, Greenpoint, and Bushwick

Prior to attending a bar crawl for Delta Spirit’s new album, I forced Maraysa to eat nachos in Greenpoint. We’ve been to Acapulco and to Vamos Al Tequila and both were pretty lovely, so we chose Papacito’s. Papacito’s offers a great variety of vegan and vegetarian options, but if I was that into either of those, I probably wouldn’t be blogging about nachos.

Recently, I picked up this adorable two-seater bench in Greenpoint, my third visit to the area since not visiting for 18 months or so. With the bench in my car, I found Vamos Al Tequila on Franklin St. With outdoor seating, I figured why not bask in the sun and eat nachos all by myself as passers by pass me by.

This Sunday, I found myself in Williamsburg and hunger pangs in my tummy. I remembered all the people who always asked me how if I had nachos at La Superior.

On a muggy Saturday night, I headed to Williamsburg for a birthday party with time to kill so with Nozomi, I went to Taco Chulo on Grand Street. When we got there, she said we couldn’t eat nachos because we didn’t have cameras with us. Fortunately, I didn’t let that stop me. We took out our phones and ate nachos.

We try to be nice. If a restaurant blows the first time around but we notice that the brunch menu is tasty, the guacamole is fresh, or the margaritas are strong, we try to go back and make sure our nasty review was not a fluke. That can be said of Elote.

On what may have been the last weekend of Summer sun and fun, I found myself in the foreign land of Greenpoint with out of town friends Stu and Bianca. They wanted to ‘cho it up with the King and I obliged.
