Brooklyn trio Moon Hooch have been playing together in the New York subway since the summer of 2010. Since being banned from the Bedford L stop for causing “too many dance parties,” the band now calls the Union Square L stop home. Nachos NY will be giving away a pair of tickets to this Friday’s show.
Nachos NY has been a passion project for the past three years. Along the way, we’ve learned so much about our favorite food, nachos. We’ve also had a lot of fun hosting Guactaculars, Salsa Slams, Guac Rocks, nacho crawls and even El Grito (look that one up if you’re curious). We’ve gotten the opportunity to meet amazing people and work with amazing companies and now we’re taking the next step.
Recently, I picked up this adorable two-seater bench in Greenpoint, my third visit to the area since not visiting for 18 months or so. With the bench in my car, I found Vamos Al Tequila on Franklin St. With outdoor seating, I figured why not bask in the sun and eat nachos all by myself as passers by pass me by.
You may have seen our next Chovember contributor slinging “You A Jerk Salsa” at this year’s Salsa Slam. But Monique Henry runs and writes as The Eatinist Bitch and bakes for Robicelli’s. Her nacho memory involves two of our least favorite things: movie theatre nachos and American cheese.
We have the luck of a podcast superstar today. From the very entertaining podcast The Sporkful, Dan Pashman tells us why he loves nachos in an elegant way. Do you agree with his board game reference?
