As part of the book-writing process, we are going to a lot of meetings. We took a nacho-meeting with our editor, who finds us just darling, to newly opened Viktor & Spoils. Our evening started with each one of us needing directions to find the sign-less restaurant. One by one, we each found the door with the currency all over it and sat down.
Recently, I picked up this adorable two-seater bench in Greenpoint, my third visit to the area since not visiting for 18 months or so. With the bench in my car, I found Vamos Al Tequila on Franklin St. With outdoor seating, I figured why not bask in the sun and eat nachos all by myself as passers by pass me by.
It was approaching the midnight hour and tummies were rumbling at the Robicelli’s kitchen. Tacos el Branco in Sunset Park has served me well before, even in delivery nacho category. But Nachos Texanos? Without a description? I was feeling adventurous.
Ballpark nachos are iffy at best. And really, how many times can you really review cheese sauce and round, over-salted tortilla chips? But this past week I took in a game at Target Field in Minneapolis and learned a few things about ballpark ‘chos.
Twas a rainy day in Hell’s Kitchen. Seeking refuge from the storm, the Nachos NY gang searched out a place to dry out and chow down on some chorizo ‘chos while celebrating the birth of the nacho king himself, Lee Frank.
After a certain amount of people asked me if we have reviewed places like Chili’s (we can’t, none in NYC) and the Cheesecake Factory, we decided it was time to take advantage of the great chain restaurants that America has to offer. So welcome to Chainz.
