Joshua M. Bernstein writes about beer, food, spirits, and more for Time Out New York, New York Press and AOL’s Slashfood. He spends his days searching for oddball characters, crisp pork-and-chive dumplings, cool pints of properly poured beer and bars that are as frightening as their drinks are strong. We reached out to him for a guest post on beer pairings for our favorite nachos and he delivered.
From time to time our alliances come in handy. One of my favorite blogs, Dumpering, just happens to be run by my friend Lindsay. I briefly mentioned the idea of a Nacho Dumpling and within 5 hours, she had crafted, photographed and sent me just that.
PITTSBURGH – I have been stalking Nachos NY for quite some time now. Lover of everything nacho, sans sour cream (Gasp!, I know), I have decided to post about my favorite nachos in Pittsburgh- “kick-gas nachos” from Fuel & Fuddle near the University of Pittsburgh campus.
Today marks an important day in nachos history. Twenty-five years ago today, the Nacho King of New York, our own Lee Frank was brought into this world. Without him, Nachos NY would not exist leaving the city incapicitated and unable to eat. To celebrate, Lee’s own father sends his love and praise for his only son, our king.
We have these super cool friends in a band called Graydon. They’re coming to New York to play shows at the Trash Bar on Tuesday and Fontana’s on Wednesday.
Being really cool and nacho-maniacal; they’ve recorded what has become the official Nachos NY theme.
