Without our sponsors, Guactacular would cost $90 a person, contestants would have to buy their own avocados and we’d all be dying from thirst and sobriety. But these kinds folks help us out to make sure that Guactacular 2011 is an eventful night complete with beer, food and a good ol’ fashioned avocado taste mobile!
Sorry everyone but the we have officially hit max capacity for Guactacular! We have a wait list going but unless 10 people crack under the pressure and bail, I hate to say it but there’s always next year!
In the last 10 days or so, our words have been sparse. We can definitely tell you that we’re getting stupid excited for Guactacular and if you haven’t heard, half the tickets are sold.
We showed you our top ten moments and our winner’s recipes. Guactacular is considered by us to be a huge success and we wouldn’t have be able to pull off an event of this magnitude without the help of our awesome partners.
With the Guacatcular on our door steps, I know you are just dying to meet some of the chosen few who will competing for guac glory. I sent out a few silly intro questions earlier this week. So without further ado, I present to you profiles on 11 out of the selected 20. First off, our Guactacular Champion of 2009, Karol Lu.
Unless you have been living under a rock for the past month then you would know that the Guactacular is around the corner. This year, while you wet you whistle with Dos Equis and feast on 20 guacs, Alex Meixner and his band will be putting on a crazy-ass show. Mariachi polka music will be heard at the Bell House. For a little insight into what we will hear, I asked the man himself.
We thought perhaps we weren’t clear the first time that the Guactacular is a spectacular guacamole event, hence the name Guactacular. With 20 guacs, a polka-extraordinary performance, super-cheap drinks, raffles, DJs, and a lot more, you’d think we didn’t need a video.
