We’ve had our run-ins with Pantone colors in the past. We had to figure out which yellow the tortilla chip is on our I Nacho NY shirt and tote and found out quickly that pantone color books cost A LOT of money.
Now, we’ve been hit again by Pantone and this time it’s delicious.
We were very excited on our 2nd year of nacho blogging to have the amazing 15 Album Nachos taking some of our favorite LP covers and gunking them up with nachos. Then we had an incredible time leading up to the Oscars with our Best Picture Nominees. With the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, we have a great surprise.
We’re as into Hollywood as any other Nacho blog, so we’ve been waiting months for the Oscars. For one night, Hollywood tells its actors, “Hey, we love you.” We want to hit two birds with one stone, so Hollywood, “You’re cool” and nachos, “You know love you, too.”
After reconnecting with @tystarr, our self-proclaimed biggest fan and purveyor of fine art pieces at Twisted Comix, I hoped and wish he’d use his skills for good and not evil. He did. He provided us with immediately iconic and layered image.
So while we’re celebrating two years of blogging, we’re also able to celebrate the International Day of the Nacho, October 21. It started in 1995, to celebrate the creation by Ignacio Anaya.
Every time I meet someone who learns I live life for the love of nachos, they think I am joking. They question it’s history and the difference from one nacho to the other. They say, “you mean chips and that orange cheese sauce,” and I slap them.
Today, while sipping on an afternoon coffee, I looked up to an email in my inbox from Art Kicks Ass, a blog of animated masterpieces. All they said was “Love your mission!” and linked us to my new favorite blog post on the internet.
