I know you’ve been refreshing Nachos NY for weeks for the Guac Rock announcement, and that time has finally come. We’re glad to say that it is happening in a few weeks on Monday August 19, once again on the mighty Jewel.

We set sail with the amazing guacamoles from Guactacular winners Kate Telfeyan and Christi Clifford. We are also bringing a bunch of other delicious surprise guacs as well from Guac Rock alumni and ourselves.

And for the bands! We have a doozy of a lineup with a little bit for everyone.

The Fine Machines played last year’s hullabaloo as The Dan Picolli Trio before settling in on a name inspired by one of their song lyrics. They’ve been playing all over the city and we’re ecstatic to have them back.

Beverly has just hit the ground running. They’re a Brooklyn based duo featuring Frankie Rose of Crystal Stilts, Dum Dum Girls and the Vivian Girls.

Joywave joins us from Rochester, NY. If you try to describe their sound, wait a minute and it will change completely and you’ll still be loving it. Just the way we like to close out Guac Rock.

UPDATE: A commenter asked about some more food and beverage details. The boat has a full bar and beers are all around $5. As for other food, we are excited to offer La Newyorkina paletas on board for just a few dollars each. There will now be any full meals to be had, but the guac is free.

UPDATE 2: Tickets are sold out. There unfortunately will not be tickets at the door.

The party takes place on August 19 at the Jewel. We leave from the docks at 23rd and FDR.  The doors open at 7pm and the boat leaves the dock promptly at 8pm. Tickets are $18 or $20 at the door.

Hey, August 19th is my birthday, and this sounds like the perfect event to drag as many of my friends to as possible(!), I was just hoping for a few more details, like the price of food/drinks on the boat, and whether there will be other foods on the cruise besides Guac?
