Taco Bell’s Beefy Nacho Burrito
I’ve been waiting to eat the Beefy Nacho Burrito for way too long it seems. Just as it was announced an supposed to begin, I was poised to eat it on day 1 and much to my despair, it wasn’t available. Today, I got my chance.
Taco bell has been promoting this as an integration with the MLB, with commercials showing a fan in the stands catching a homerun barehanded with a Beefy Nacho Burrito in the other hand. Video below if you’d like to watch something unrealistic.
But back to the burrito. It contained taco bell beef, nacho cheese sauce, sour cream, and “queso” flavored chips. No word yet if these are connected to the Doritos shelled Tacos Locos, but they should have been. Anyway, it was not exactly as pictured (see below).
I bit in and felt the crunch of the chips. The chips were seasoned in a spicy nacho flavor that was definitely different from the tacos loco. The cheese sauce was the same as any other cheesy anything at taco bell, meaning not great. I could have easily skipped the sour cream on this, and would have loved a salsa component. I’ve heard upgrades are coming in salsa and other condiments with the big jump to the “cantina” menu.
Mostly, this felt like something I have already eaten. I am pretty sure they had exactly this burrito before with plain tortilla strips versus the queso flavored chips. (It was something I had eaten before.)
And even though it was only .89, it was tiny.
PS: Personally, I cannot wait until the Cool Ranch Locos Tacos comes out.
