Idle Hands Bar – Totchos

We’re stretching the concept of nachos for you, aren’t we? Angry that we’ve been reviewing Irish Nachos and now Totchos? Or are you blown away at how other foods are just jealous of the awesomeness of ‘cho to the point that they try and pretend they are brothers from another mother? Yea, that’s what I thought. This week: TOTCHOS.

Totchos – tater tot nachos.

What I was expecting was cheese sauce and tater tots but the guys at Idle Hands Bar [the Totchos are made at That Burger, located inside Idle Hands and Billy Hurricane’s] on Avenue B stepped it up. The totchos were more like a hash with bacon, beef, jalapeno and cheese. The breakfast totchos include eggs and come with a slice of American cheese draped on top. I must say I like the original version. It was spicy and of course BACON. A far cry from the boring ol’ tater tots of my younger years spent at Chautauqua Elementary School in rural WNY.

That being said and previous rant on other foods’ jealousy aside, Nachos NY needs a return to pure and simple nachos. Where shall we go?
