Epstein’s Bar – Happy Hour Nachos

When you think happy hour you normally think 2-for-1 drafts or a couple bucks knocked off your well drinks. On select nights Epstein’s Bar happy hour extends to their appetizer menu. On a Friday night how could one turn down cheap fried food and $3 Ommegang Witte beers?

Let’s start out by saying this, THESE NACHOS WERE $3.50. Seriously, there are some major flaws with these nachos but THESE NACHOS WERE $3.50! And look, there’s actual sliced avocado on there and a couple of salsas on the side. We had 3 beers, fried pickles and nachos and our bill came in well under 20 bucks.

Now as for the quality of the nachos, the chips became a crazy, soppy mess fast. The basic nachos come with chili and the chips can not hold up to all the liquid. You couldn’t even dip a chip into the salsas; there was that much chili-damage done to the chip. Parts that didn’t get the chili, were decent. Basic chips and cheese and honestly, I would have paid $3.50 for nachos without the meat sauce catastrophe.

Again, THESE NACHOS WERE $3.50! And at that price I was just happy there wasn’t cheese sauce from a can and corn tortilla rounds.
