Schiller’s Liquor Bar
I’ve been waiting to go to Schiller’s for a while. I’ve often walked by on an afternoon and decided it’s not the place for a solo nacho mission. Luckily, Rachel wanted to call to order a meeting of the Nacho Heads of State and we chose this as the place.
Schiller’s is known for their booze, so I figured they might be able to accompany that with a nice nacho platter. We sat down and got to business. If you want to see us in business mode, ask Rachel to share the minutes from that meeting.
So we ordered nachos and a round of drinks.
First they brought out the bread. The bread was not very photogenic, so I’m leaving it out of this post. Our drinks came first and my margarita was tasty, but not spicy like I had hoped. The nachos came out next.
This was an odd arrangement. We had our chips and our cheese. They spent some time together in the over (or microwave), but in the middle was a bowl with everything else I could ever enjoy.
In the bowl was a combination of beans, salsa and more cheese. And boy was it boring. I couldn’t tell which was more boring: the cheesed-chip or the Frankenstein’d dip. I would probably say the dip. It seemed to have the different components somewhat separated so I never knew what boring flavor was coming next.
We didn’t finish these. And it wasn’t because of the bread.
