Kansas High School Soccer Fans Get a Nacho Treat

Nacho living here in New York City is generally pretty great, but in Kansas, it’s freaking awesome. At a Topeka high school, the Seaman Vikings offered one lucky fan free nachos for every goal scored. Lucky for the fans, Seaman blew out Highland Park Scots in a 10-0 victory, meaning 10 lucky fans were munching down on free ‘chos.

If there’s anything we like more than a good sports match its being duly rewarded for doing nothing in the stands. Hopefully this is part of a growing trend that will land here in NYC soon. If it does, you can bet there will be an uptick in high school soccer attendance. No word on the quality of the gratis nachos, though we imagine they were your average ballpark/movie theater exercises in goopy cheese.

Coach Louis DiLeonardo did tell the Topeka Capital-Journal “We have to put in top effort all the time and play at a top level… In the playoffs, you gotta play your best every time. Otherwise bad things happen.” Yeah, like hungry, disgruntled fans!
