Kimchi Taco Truck

I JUMP at the opportunity to cut into a work day with an order of nachos. It’s fairly difficult given the lack of Mexican food to my office, but on Tuesday, I triumphed over defeat when a coworker told me we were going to the Kimchi Taco Truck parked on Tuesdays at 24th & Broadway.

The Kimchi Taco has become a fairly regular thing in NYC, strangely enough, but the Korean Nacho is one of mythological existence. Can Kimchi and Cheese live in the same habitat / chip? I was ready to find out.

Although there was a decent sized line, I ordered the BBQ Nachos because at $4, how can I not?

This order boasted pork and beef, kimchi, cheese and more. I have to admit that this is likely why the Korean taco fad hasn’t carried to nachos. Cheese sauce and kimchi are not meant to be friends. I really felt like I was eating two meals at once.

I will return to this truck, maybe even next Tuesday, but I won’t be ordering nachos.
