El Charro Espanol

You’d think that after what seems like 20 years of Nacho eating and 25 appointments at the Cardiologist, I’d know when to turn down a Nacho that will probably be awful when I read the menu or hear about the place. Jon told me he found this adorable place that I should try the Nachos at and I, having not seen him in a while, said we should meet there. He told me it would “romantic,” which should have tipped me off that this place wouldn’t end up being one of my favorites. My second tip: the menu. With a menu of Paellas and Lobster, Nachos are likely an afterthought for the restaurant. Still, I agreed.

I don’t have much to say about them that I didn’t hint at up top. This wasn’t the right place to get a plate of nachos. The cheese tasted like it was thick-sliced American cheese from the grocery store. The only other thing on the plate was super-diced jalapenos and they were ignorable. So, I wouldn’t eat the nachos here. HOWEVER, I don’t want to say this a bad restaurant. We go to plenty of restaurants that have bad nachos and bad everything else. This place is a romantic spot with a huge menu of seafood and meats that I’d probably eat on a date. But, don’t eat their nachos.
