I love Taquerias. When I found out there was one in my hood, I was all over it. Maya Taqueria is a little place on Vanderbilt Ave in Prospect Heights. They have a ton of nacho toppings to chose from. Also on the menu, elote. FEAST! So, we settle for Chicken Rojas (Chicken with peppers and onions) and an ear of corn.

Things got a little dirty at Maya. The toppings were all amazing the cilantro really struck a chord with me and I loved the salsa bar to add a little kick.

However, what a mess! There were not enough chips for the toppings. we had to break out the silverware. One of the reasons, I love nachos is the ability to say, “Screw forks, I am digging in barehanded.” Well, at Maya I was up to my elbows in cheese, chicken, and black beans. Honestly, this place could have snuck into the top 5, but when I have to ask for a fork instead of another napkin a few points are lost on the scale of nacho awesomeness.

    their burritos are ridiculously good.

Also, the best part of the nachos (in my opinion) is the bottom, soggy part that requires silverware (chilaquiles!).

That place is win in my book.
