Dessert Nachos at Los Muertos

How does one celebrate a successful nacho crawl? Dessert nachos of course. You would think after three nacho stops in one day we would be chipped-out but then you mustn’t comprehend our dedication. For breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert all we want are nachos.

We’ve had nachos delivered from Los Muertos before. They weren’t pretty, but I still haven’t had a decent to-go nachos experience. And as soon as the plate of dessert ‘chos arrived we were overwhelmed. People in the restaurant were in awe of our dessert selection. I must admit, we did not finish the plate so they are certainly for sharing. Or fatties. Or Joby.

The flour tortillas contained no salt. It would have been cool so see some play on the sweet and salty trend that some people are head over heels for. The chips held up in the chocolate, dulce de leche, and whipped cream. Crispy until the last force-fed bite.

As we inhaled our dessert ‘chos, there was a choking-on-the-powdered-sugar-and-cinnamon problem. Check that, it was a welcomed predicament.

I think if I were to make improvements to the dessert nacho concept is I would make the chocolate drizzle and dulce de leche warm. That would have been killer. In addition, canned whipped cream does nothing for me. Imagine fresh whipped cream with chili chocolate shavings. Whoa now, amazing. All in all though, for $4.50 you can’t got wrong. Seriously, skip that crappy mocha at Starbucks and use those calories and dollars on something worthwhile.
