Product Review: TJ's Peach Salsa

For some God-awful reason, our newest intern, Dan, ate Chinese food shortly before we were to feast upon the Tex-Mex cuisine at Hop Devil Grill. Sadly he had to cop out due to a fussy tummy. That’s why he’s an intern, folks. So instead of Taco Tuesday in the East Village, we had to settle for a night in with Peach Salsa from Trader Joe’s coupled with our favorite corn chip from Food Should Tasted Good.

Damn, this stuff was sweet. It wasn’t even peach sweet, just straight up sugar with some tomatoes. One peach dipper, Delaney stated that if she wanted a can a peaches, she’d go out and buy a can and then throw it in some salsa. It probably would have tasted better. Jon compared it to a mango chutney. It’s definitely not a salsa to add to nachos. Most certainly not.

Jon polished off the salsa, mainly out of guilt. Let’s just say, I was unimpressed. All I wanted was Taco Tuesday. Sigh.

Thanks for the review! Peach salsa is something I would TOTALLY pick up while perusing the isles of TJs (stemming from my undying love of mango salsa). Now I know to stick to their awesome kettle corn and dried apple rings.

And sounds like this intern Dan has a LOT to learn!

I wouldn’t choose peaches to put in salsa. Pineapples, maybe. Grapes?
