Cinco De Mayo
On a wet Monday night with drops pouring on my head, what could be better than Nachos? With all of my work vicinity covered by previous reviews, I decided to hike back out to Brooklyn. Off the Q in the Cortelyou area of Brooklyn lies Cinco De Mayo. I promise no bias even though I love the name Cinco De Mayo (Guactacular). We got margaritas and in my amateur opinion, it was just ok. Could have used a little more alcohol, I think.
I ordered the nachos with my favorite, chorizo, and my mouth watered. When they came out:

With the super fresh in mind, you can see the juices on the vegetables and guacamole. I was ready to dig in.
The skillet made the presentation cute and the nachos were plentiful, but how were they. I’ll start with the chorizo. Over the last year of nacho-blogging, chorizo quickly became my go-to meat. This chorizo was really good, just enough saltiness and a bit of spicy kick made me happy. The guac was fresh, chunky and had that hint of lime that I like a lot. Cheese, it was yummy cheese, but not enough of it – the biggest drawback of the plate. Still these were very good, Nozomi and I ate and ate our way threw these.

The top picture made me so hungry I almost drove to Brooklyn for some nachos of my own!
International Nacho Day is Oct 21.
National nacho day for Americans is Nov 6. It is even congressional, one of the “food holidays.”
Both are epic holidays.
Hope to see you sometime over beer and nachos!
