A look at Nachodelphia
This Saturday, while most people were shopping, waking up from a Turkey Coma or fixing up leftovers, I took 79 of Philly’s finest on a Nacho Crawl. With the help of John Steele at RedHedMedia, The Philly Nacho Crawl got so much publicity, it was like NachosNY took over Philadelphia media.
The Before:
“He currently runs a successful food blog about nachos in New York (appropriately titled NachosNY), but he hasn’t forgotten about his pals back home. This weekend, Frank brings his love of nachos back to his hometown, with the Philadelphia Nacho Crawl.”
“So when Frank comes home next week for Thanksgiving, he’ll be mixing his wonderful past with his dizzying present for what is, as best we know, the first-ever Nacho Crawl Philadelphia.”
“Lee Frank who runs the site is originally from Philadelphia and is going to be hosting a “curated” nacho crawl here on Saturday, November 28th.”
“I have to say that I am pretty happy with my life when I get an email from a stranger telling me about at nacho crawl they are planning. Uh yes please and I am so there!”
The After:
Over 100 people RSVPed. I told a bunch of people that there was already too many and they’d have to come along next time. When about 90% of the accepted RSVPs showed up, we scared the waitstaff at Royal Tavern.
The story of the day. Eli came on the crawl looking for Claire, a girl he hadn’t met that had the Nacho Crawl Flyer as her profile pic on facebook. (By the way, be a NachosNY Facebook Fan here.) After not being able to find her at Royal Tavern, he found en route to the next place. I’m not sure if they found love. Can anyone fill me in?
Before we review all of the nachos, take a look at these photos of our excellent day from my camera and some of greats from the flickr pool.

So as you can see, it was an event. Thanks to Philadelphia, John Steele, all the blogs that published the crawl and everyone who came out. Next time, Northern Liberties in 6 months or less. For NYC, we’re coming for you soon Astoria.

I love Royal Tavern. The food there is awesome. I look forward to the reviews.
He fell in love, but only with Nachos. Which really was the purpose of the day, right?

Florencia 13
Last week, upon the pressures of finding competitors for the now infamous Guactacular, I took a moment to breathe and eat nachos. After checking the suggestion thread, I saw that people were just plain clamoring for me to eat at Florencia 13 in the Greenwich Village.
So on a lovely afternoon, I met estranged nacho eater Sara (we hadn’t eaten nachos together in like a month). We sat down and ordered nachos and me, being the lush I sometimes am had a margarita ($5 during happy hour).
