Peggy O'Neill's
As the Single-A Short Season NY Penn League was winding down, the gang decided to take in a Brooklyn Cyclones game. Lee opted for nachos as his in-game snack and we all hopped on the nacho train after a Cyclone loss at Peggy O’Neill’s.
The first and obvious fail, cheese sauce. Though we left the stadium these nachos apparently didn’t get the message. Ball park ‘chos are a no-go once you’re outside the gates. Not only is the queso sauce unappetizing and a slap in the face to all cheese and chips lovers, it’s just unhealthy. The fat factor certainly is a concern. I like to believe I am getting my daily needs of calcium from a plate of nachos.
Basically, nothing on this plate was fresh. Instead there was a salty meat chili slopped on the chips. Sogginess set in and we decided not to waste our precious calories. I could have made a better plate of ‘chos at a 7-11. At least then I would have had a Mountain Dew Slurpee.
So a nacho fail at Coney Island. I guess we should just stick with hot dogs from Nathan’s.
