Shows and ‘Chos: Piano’s with HGTR

Holy Ghost Tent Revival were back in town this past week. Before a show at the Living Room, we decided to get together for some happy hour nacho action at Piano’s. Before 7pm, the Grand Piano Nachos are only $5. So we decided to get 6 plates of pre-show ‘chos and feast.

I have recently seeked counciling to resolve my racist red chip issues. Diversity is what makes the world beautiful and it’s the same idea when it comes to nachos. Plus it was dark in the back room of Piano’s. I guess if  they’re ain’t pretty just dim the lights and let’s get down and dirty.

I was totally into the chick peas. Garbanzo beans add a healthy little something to ‘chos and don’t lead to sogginess as refried beans tend to do. The chili was also quite spicy. Even our own Nacho King could feel the heat and he drinks hot sauce for breakfast.

On a sad note, the sour cream and the guacamole came on the side. When I order nachos, I like one plate in front if me. My chips should not have to travel to another dish just to swim in sour cream. Call me lazy but I just want to dig in and let the toppings fall where they be. The chicken also did nothing for me. Save your 2 bucks.

Well nourished and ready for the show part of our evening we headed over to the Living Room for the show. The guys from Greensboro did not disappoint. Fueled by nachos, the energy (and size) of HGTR could barely be contained on the small stage. Many thanks to Jon Portisky for taking some lovely photos and thanks again to Holy Ghost Tent Revival for taking the time to hang out with the Nacho Collective and give us another nacho perspective.

Check out more of Jon’s photos from the evening here and make sure to give some love to Holy Ghost Tent Revival via their website, Myspace, and Facebook. Thanks to out to Margarita Correspondent for providing some pics as well.

Tonight (September 10th) we are having nachos with Afuche! Come join us at 7:45. We’ll be dining at the lovely Yola’s Cafe before the band’s set at Public Assembly in Williamsburg.

These chos were mad spicy. I loved it. Rachel wasn't photoed whimpering, but she shed a few tears. Also, garbanzo!

I'm happy to report that Pianos frozen margaritas, albeit straight out of a machine, were the perfect happy hour drinks to kick off a long weekend. The well-sized fresh lime perfectly topped off the already overflowing tall, slim glass. I couldn’t have picked a better cocktail to have in my hand immediately following a long work day, with an even longer 4-day weekend of infinite boozing opportunities ahead of me.
