Los Muertos de Franklin Parque
On a whimsically quiet day at work, I told Rachel that we should meet at our local spot, Franklin Park for a happy hour brew. When I got there a hunger came over me so I reached for the takeout menus for Taqueria de los Muertos. When I called them, I got to customize. I ordered some cheddar, black beans, pico de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream.
While we waited for the delivery man, I sipped on a Coney Island Lager and Rachel had a Shock Top. Both were previously enjoyed and previously ordered. Then upon suggestion from the waitress, we tried Six Point Apollo. Boy were we dissappointed. This was touted as a wheat beer, it was much too heavy and not too lovely. That put a damper on my evening, as I am in love with Six Point.
Then the delivery man arrived. The nachos looked like:
And boy did I dig in. But I was left unpleased. There was no cooperation on flavors and there was a lot of extra cheese not connected to any chips. The guacamole was somewhat bland and completely centered in the middle of the chos. How much of this can I chalk up to the fact that they were delivered and on a bike giving them the shakeys and the jumbles? I’m not sure. Have you had good nachos delivered? Or is it a no-no?
