Zocalo

Upon recommendation by superfan Karl, we added this as our last stop on the nacho crawl. When I called the manager to set up the space, he was really excited about bringing us in, which was adorably cute. When we got there, we saw balloons and streamers; we still don’t know if it was for us.

This place was the most legitimate Mex place of our group, necessitating the need for Ali as a translator. In the narrow, but long restaurant, we were taken upstairs. Besides our very sleepy and full table, there were 2 guys in the back watching some futbol on a fuzzy TV.

We ordered plain nachos and chorizo nachos. They came out looking beautiful.

Nachos

blah

They included (from bottom to top) yellow corn tortilla chip, pinto beans, melted cheese, a “white sauce” resembling crema, pico de gallo, guacamole, jalapenos and a sprinkled cheese. The Chorizo ones, as usual, contained the same plus chorizo.

I would be lying if I didn’t say that the atmosphere added to my experience, but I found these to be tasty. Fresh ingredients and a nice touch of double cheesing is usually the way right to my heart. I’d recommend that you come here for nachos and even beyond like burritos. (Sorry, I know I am only licensed to discuss nachos.) Also, I destroyed those jalapenos.

Oh yea, and Anh Tuan probably ruined his life:
