Florencia 13
Last week, upon the pressures of finding competitors for the now infamous Guactacular, I took a moment to breathe and eat nachos. After checking the suggestion thread, I saw that people were just plain clamoring for me to eat at Florencia 13 in the Greenwich Village.
So on a lovely afternoon, I met estranged nacho eater Sara (we hadn’t eaten nachos together in like a month). We sat down and ordered nachos and me, being the lush I sometimes am had a margarita ($5 during happy hour).
When the nachos came out, I could see they’d be delicious.
Before you, a calvacade of fresh guac, homemade-y tortilla chips, pico de gallo, cheese, black olives, beans and so many jalapenos. Each topping looked like it was made just for me. Off to the side was a dippy cup of sour cream. Each bite was a glorious adventure of spice and nice. Conversation led to discussion of living in Brooklyn and never going to uptown parts of Manhattan.
Even the owner, who I wanted to lock down for the guac tac (next year, I promise), Loco Lenn, as he’s called, was super nice and down with the nacho journey.
Check this place out for sure. It has the vibes of delicious food.
