We were immediately met by Tyler of Twisted Comix and his friends Cynthia and Crystian, who found out about NachosNY from our post on Midtown Lunch. Tyler loves him some nachos.

New friends

As the first customers of the day, we were giving the choicest of seating in their back patio. The only issue was a Northwesterly wind flying through, but it was still picturesque. While waiting for the others to join to gang, we ordered plain and chorizo nachos.

When they came out just moments later, everyone notice the same thing. The platter had the eight-chip style that we’ve come to be biased against. Each chip was smothered in refried beans, cheese, and chorizo (on the Chorizo Nachos). In the center, a heaping amount of guacamole, pico de gallo, crema, lettuce and jalapenos doomed over us.

We worried about what would happen if we couldn’t finish the alloted toppings. Would Veracruz steal our souls. As scared as we were, we trudged onward. What we found was a tasty, if slightly fragile white corn chip ready to be engulfed with guac. Though the chips occasionally broke, the guac and the other toppings sat deliciously on each chip. Noticing our lack of chips and plethora of toppings, the lovely waitress brought out some more chips.

Shortly after we destroyed this set, Erin, Ryan, Kristen, and Nora showed up for devouration. So we jumped on a chance to try the Chicken Nachos. This time around, they looked crazy:

I couldn’t believe these were nachos. It was a camouflage. A lot of poutry suffered in the making of this delicious plate. These were really good. We were not ready to move on to Teddy’s, but we needed to. I’ll reiterate, really good.
