Qdoba Lunch Break

21 April 2009 by rachel , , , , ,   4 Comments

It was the Saturday before our big Williamsburg Nacho Crawl.  Most people would take the day to rest, relax, and mentally prepare for the journey before them. But since when are like most people?

I was on break from work. Actually, I would grab bites in between customers at Royale Cafe and Pastry on 6th Avenue and 11th Street.  Lee got nachos from Qdoba on 6th Ave. and so we feasted.

Weird. Just toppings.

As you see, the toppings were just thrown together in a bowl. The chips came separate. All things considering, they weren’t as bad as typcial fast food takeout nachos. The chips had a hint of lime, the guace was legit, and the queso sauce was spicy. Even though it was a sauce, I guess I have different standards for to-go food. However, we definitely did not finish the entire bowl. Everything mixed together after a little while.  It became a nacho soup of sorts.

All in all, it was better than eating croissants and pumpkin loaf to fight off hunger while at work.  Has anyone out there had them “to stay?” Do they still separate the toppings from the chips? Let us know how you feel about this nacho chain!
