Out of Jurisdiction: Pablo's

This guest post drops from another person very close to me. You may have read about Denmark Nachos from Bocadito Frank, but now welcome Padre Frank, Mr. Nachos Senior. He brings some knowledge about the delicious and rare Brussels nacho that we enjoyed when we weren’t getting too drunk.

After having gone “Nachos-less” in Paris, we found Pablo’s Restaurant in Brussels. We wanted to go there for our Sunday night dinner, but Pablo’s is closed on Sundays. Pablo’s is a popular site in Brussels known by many, likely due to it’s status as the only Mexican restaurant not named “Chi-Chi’s”. Our ticket taker at the Brussels Comic Strip Museum gave us directions to Pablo’s. Located at in their business district, it’s just outside the tourist areas.

We went for lunch to Pablo’s on our last day in Brussels and ordered their Nachos Especial and a quesadilla.

Brussels Nachos

The nachos were served by Anna who was born in Cuba and has family who lives in Miami Florida. The food was excellent and the nachos were indeed special. The nachos had corn, tomatoes, salsa, sour cream, jalapenos, and a perfectly blended cheese with their tortilla chips. In no time, we devoured the big plate of nachos which cost 8.5 Euros. We downed our nachos with Fanta orange soda.

All gone!

All four of us would recommend that the next time you are in Brussels that you have nachos at Pablos. Brussels may be known for its beers, chocolates, waffles, fries and the Pissing Mannekins, but Pablos’ Nachos ranks just as high on our list.
