The District of Nacholumbia

Today’s Your City comes from Washington D.C.; our writer, Meghan Kotlanger has been a friend of Mr. Nachos for quite some time and constantly makes him giggle. When’s shes not writing about nachos, she’s big-timing in DC through her words about style and making eyepatches. I knew she’d be perfect to describe the nacho of our capital, the way Lincoln would have wanted.

Washington, D.C., our nation’s capital.  Lots of important things occur here everyday…congress makes important decisions, politicians commit adultery, protesters gather to voice their message, but most importantly, nachos are made!   Due to the heated election, and our new, history-making president, if DC were to have a representative nacho, it would have to be dubbed the Obamanacho.  The core of the Obamanacho is all about color…red, white, and blue to be exact! The iconic colors of our nation.  The red comes from delicious tomatoes, the white comes from some yummy Queso Blanco stirred up in a melting pot, and the blue would naturally be blue corn tortillas…all organic ingredients to promote the reduction of pollution. With these nachos, you will undoubtedly be the hit of your next 4th of July party!

Cheese, tomatoes, and tortillas. Where’s the excitement in that? Fortunately for you, these are just the core elements of the Obamanacho.  For the Obamanacho to be truly representative of DC, one must keep in mind that this is not only one of the most political cities in the world, but one of the most diverse as well. The Obamanachos welcome any ingredient, regardless of their color, texture, or creed, though I hear the habenero peppers can be a bit overzealous at times.  The true essence of the Obamanacho is not in the core ingredients, but in whatever you, the eater, want to add to it.  Bring on the onions, chinese noodles, or cumquats.  It is all determined by you! This is why you can never go wrong with the Obamanacho.

    Those sound diverse.

But never diss a habanero, you don't know when they're right behind you.
